According to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, light therapy appears to improve sleep, mood, and energy. Solid connections between light and mood studies, and increased demand for open floor plans with large windows bred the "Deep Natural Light" concept for Alter Urban's Bolton Hill row-home development. In all three projects, formerly dark interiors were transformed into light filled spaces with sky lights, open floor plans and double height volumes. The strategy worked. In total, Alter Urban projects out-performed comparable products by 22% and continue to maintain higher rental and assessment values.
